Blasting Records: India launches single rocket with 104 satellites aboard

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) successfully launched a record 104 satellites from a single Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C37 rocket, Wednesday, at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) on the Sriharikota barrier island near Chennai.Of the co-passenger satellites, 96 belong to USA, five from international ISRO customers - Israel, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, respectively - and other two Indian nano satellites. Using the time-tested Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle PSLV-C37, ISRO surpassed its personal best of sending up 20 satellites in one go. The bar was previously set by Russia in 2014 when it launched 39 satellites in a single mission.
