Thousands celebrate corruption decree retraction in Romania

Around 10,000 gathered in the center of Bucharest on Saturday to celebrate Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu's decision to withdraw a corruption decree, which sparked violent nationwide protests. Hundreds of thousands took to streets on February 1 to rally against a newly-passed government decree, which among other things decriminalizes minor graft offenses, in which the sums involved are less than 200,000 lei ($48,000).
