Dozens of nationalist activists clashed with police in front of Odessa’s Primorye regional administration building on Friday ahead of a hearing to discuss reversing some changes in the names of the city’s streets that were implemented in May of this year by the Odessa region’s former governor, Mikhail Saakashvili. The activists, who were against the reversal, were denied entry to the building by the police, after which minor clashes ensued. The hearing eventually took place, however, but the administrators voted leave Saakashvili’s changes in place.
