Around 900 antifa demonstrators took to the streets of Berlin on Saturday to join an annual memorial rally for murdered left-wing activist and squatter Silvio Meier. He was killed by members of a far-right group 24 years ago at the city’s Samariterstraße subway station, where the rally began. The activists carried banners and lit fires as they marched through the streets. Some protesters got on a roof and set off fireworks. Tensions were high during the event, and two policemen were injured.
