Protests rage in Greece during Obama visit

Thousands-strong protests by left-wing activists hit the Greek cities of Athens and Thessaloniki on Tuesday, during the visit of outgoing US President Barack Obama to the country. Both demonstrations ended in fierce clashes and scuffles, with police repelling the crowds with tear gas. Earlier that day protesters could be seen burning and beating the US flag.
