Mariinsky Theatre orchestra honors victims of Sinai air crash

Russia’s famous Mariinsky Theatre orchestra, led by conductor Valery Gergiev, gave a performance in Saint Petersburg on November 6. The concert featuring symphonies by Tchaikovsky and Mahler honored the memory of the victims of the Sinai air crash in Egypt on October 31. The crash of Russian Metrojet Flight 9268, which claimed the lives of 224 people, was determined to have been caused by a terrorist attack.
