Hundreds of costumed revelers joined a parade in Mexico City on Sunday, preparing for one of the most important holidays of the year – the Day of the Dead. The holiday, which is celebrated throughout Mexico on October 31 (All Hallows’ Eve), November 1 (All Saints Day), and November 2 (All Souls Day), can trace its roots back to the country’s pre-Hispanic era. It is celebrated in remembrance of deceased friends and relatives.
