Around 8,000 people marched in Amsterdam on Saturday to denounce the proposed TTIP and CETA free-trade agreements with the US and Canada. Crowds of demonstrators carried signs and banners slamming the deal, with some farmers joining the protest on tractors. The event comes following an upsurge in anti-TTIP and anti-CETA protests across Europe ahead of the coming EU-Canada summit on October 27, when CETA might be signed. If approved by the 28 EU member states, TTIP and CETA would create the world’s largest free-trade zone.
