Around 5,000 members of the “Let's Not Drown Belgrade” movement took the streets of the Serbian capital on Thursday evening to protest redevelopment of the city's Savamala district and demand greater transparency over it. The disputed Belgrade Waterfront project is expected to cost around €3.5 billion ($3.9 billion) and is to change the Sava Riverbank into a luxury area with office buildings and high-end homes, while multiple buildings have been demolished to pave the way for its construction.
