Police used tear gas to disperse anti-government demonstrators in Sao Paulo on Thursday, as Brazilians continue to protest the Senate vote of 61-20 in favor of acting President Michel Temer. On August 10, a majority of senators voted to proceed with Dilma Rousseff's impeachment trial. Rousseff and her many supporters had maintained her innocence in the months running up to the trial.
