At least one person was injured on Saturday when a pedestrian footbridge collapsed onto the M20 motorway in Kent, causing major delays for travelers on the bank holiday weekend. Emergency services were quick to respond to the accident, which injured a 50-year-old motorcyclist, who is believed to be in a stable condition. A passing lorry was also partially crushed by the falling bridge. The M20 was forced to close between junctions 2 and 4 in both directions. The M26 was also closed in both directions between the M25 and M20.
