People have gathered to lay wreaths at the graves of key people involved during the failed 1991 coup, including Boris Yeltsin, who later became the President of Russia, Egor Gaidar, the ideologist of the economic reforms of that period, and the famous composer Mstislav Rostropovich. They were remembering the 25th anniversary of the so-called August Putsch in Moscow. Wreaths were also laid at the graves of three people who were killed, Dmitry Komar, Ilya Krichevsky and Vladimir Usov. They died while fighting participants in the coup early on August 19, 1991.
