North Korean Oktoberfest: Pyongyang hosts its first beer festival

North Korea’s capital saw its first ever beer festival on Friday, when some 800 visitors were served free beer and snacks on the bank of Taedong River accompanied by patriotic songs and music, according to CCTV. The event will run for about 20 days and is reportedly aimed at promoting Taedonggang lager beer, Pyongyang’s own brew.
