Thousands of people marched through the streets of the Peruvian capital of Lima on Saturday to protest violence against women. The crowd held up placards while chanting slogans, and some women evem painted their faces with fake bruises. The protest followed a number of high-profile cases which have left women’s groups angry after male perpetrators received sentences they considered too lenient. Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski attended the march alongside first lady Nancy Lange.
