Thousands commemorated the 71st anniversary of an atomic bombing dropped on Hiroshima by US, with a peace ceremony on Saturday. Colorful floating lanterns were sent from the banks of the Motoyasu River in Hiroshima Peace Park. The participants wrote messages for a peaceful future on the lanterns, before floating them along the river, which is a traditional Japanese custom for the deceased.
