One of the most common stereotypes about Russia has now been confirmed – bears really live among the people. The Panteleenko family from the Moscow region have a unique pet: a 300kg brown bear named Stepan. The bear was adopted as a three-month-old cub in a terrible condition from a local market, after he had been captured by hunters. The family became the perfect match for the bear as the owners, Svetlana and Yury Panteleenko, are circus bear trainers, who managed to take care of him and teach him some tricks.
