Six Turkish soldiers were killed and four others injured after a roadside bomb exploded in the district of Caldiran in the southeastern Van province, Tuesday, the army said in a statement. Turkish security sources have blamed militants from the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) for the attack, which took place as a military vehicle was driving on a highway. Southeast Turkey has been gripped by violence since the Turkish military launched a large-scale security operation against the PKK and pro-Kurdish groups in the summer of 2015.
