Over 14,000 people are currently living at the Idomeni refugee camp on the Greek-Macedonian border, many of whom have been forced to sleep in the open due to a lack of shelter. Staff from Doctors Without Borders have put up tents to house many hundreds of the site’s inhabitants, but are not able to provide help to all the refugees, whose numbers are swelling daily. Refugees have been waiting desperately to cross the Macedonian-Greek border since Macedonian authorities closed their side of the border crossing last week. According to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), around 35,000 refugees and migrants are currently trapped in Greece.
