The former leader of the English Defence League (EDL), Tommy Robinson, joined around 4,000 supporters of German anti-Islam party PEGIDA at a rally in Dresden, Monday. During the rally the former EDL leader appeared on stage with PEGIDA founder Lutz Bachmann to sign an agreement between the German and British branches of the movement. The supporters of the anti-immigrant group marched through Dresden, waving German flags and carrying signs condemning German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Islam and refugees. The rally was met by around 400 counter-protesters who held signs denouncing the right-wing group.
