Dead sea turtles wash ashore in India

Over 150 turtles were washed ashore on a beach in Puri, India, prompting an Indian artist, Sudarsan Pattnaik, to create sand sculptures of the animals just beside their bodies. He also wrote an inscription, reading ‘give us space to live’ as an appeal to the Indian government to initiate an inquiry into the causes of the deaths and to increase the protection of sea animals.
