A group of Russian divers from the 'Vladscuba club' in the far eastern city of Vladivostok, as per tradition, have placed a fully-decorated New Year’s tree on the bottom of the Shchitovaya Bay. Divers, dressed in festive Santa Claus hats, submerged themselves in the bay to celebrate the forthcoming Russian holiday period underwater. Divers said that water was abnormally warm for this time of the year - about two degrees Celsius (36 degrees Fahrenheit) – in comparison to last year when the gulf was covered with ice.
