Clashes continued in the southeastern Turkish city of Diyarbakir on Thursday, as security forces attempted to quell demonstrators, who were protesting the murder of rights activist Tahir Elci. The police used water cannon and tear gas to disperse the crowd, which refused to observe the curfew imposed in the area after a crackdown on supporters of the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK).
