Hindu devotees in India's central state of Madhya Pradesh were willingly trampled by stampeding cows, on Thursday, as part of a local ritual to celebrate the festival of Diwali. The leap of faith under the herd of cows has reportedly been practiced in the municipality of Rajpura for centuries, occurring on the fourth day of the Hindu festival of lights, dubbed Govardhan Puja. During the festival, the villagers decorate their cows with different paints and henna, with hundreds of spectators coming out to witness the spectacle. The ritual has been performed for hundreds of years, however no one was allegedly.
