At least 5,000 people took to the streets of Johannesburg on Tuesday to demand economic transformation and free education. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party called on members from the public sector to join the protest, along with the South African Reserve Bank and the Chamber of Mines. EFF stands firmly in favor of nationalization of mines, the creation of a fairer state-owned bank and the banning of labor brokers. The march targeted major players in South Africa's financial sector, demanding changes to effect economic transformation.
