Woolly parade kicks off in Spanish capital in pastoral tradition

Crowds of people watched as shepherds guided a flock of more than 2,000 sheep through Madrid on Sunday to celebrate ancient grazing traditions and migration rights. Shepherds have led herds through Madrid for the past 22 years, preserving the right to seasonal livestock migration routes that existed before Madrid expanded from a rural hamlet to the city it is today.
