An estimated 70 Iraqi prisoners who were being held hostage by Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) were reportedly freed during a joint rescue operation conducted by US commandos and Kurdish Peshmerga fighters in Hawija, in the north of Iraq onThursday. The footage was leaked on Saturday. One American commando was reportedly killed during the mission, making him the first US serviceman to die fighting IS.
