Thousands of supporters of the PEGIDA movement (Patriotic Europeans Against Islamization) flooded central Dresden on Monday to mark the one-year anniversary since its foundation. The right-wing movement supporters waved German flags and denounced Chancellor Angela Merkel with derogatory slogans and banners, demanding that she stop the influx of migrants and the so-called “Islamization” of Europe. Similar rallies took place in Hannover and Munich.
