Police deployed water cannon vehicles and tear gas to disperse thousands of protesters who took to the streets of Diyarbakir, southeastern Turkey on Sunday. Activists marched against the Justice and Development Party (AK Party), accusing the government of failing to offer a strong response to the twin bombings that rocked Ankara the day before. Up to 128 people were killed and more than 250 were injured in a double explosion in Ankara on Saturday morning.
