Tractors lined up in central Tallinn on Monday, as Estonian farmers protested to demand some $7.7 million (€ 6.8 million) in financial support from the government. Farmers argue that they are being affected by cheaper imports and are not protected by the government. The demonstration came as Russian food embargo has left many European farmers on the brink of bankruptcy. Last August, Russia banned certain products from the EU, US and several other countries, responding to sanctions introduced by the West over the Ukraine crisis.
