About 2,000 people marched through the Hungarian capital on Sunday chanting that Prime Minister Viktor Orban was a "dictator." The protest ended peacefully with speeches in front of the Hungarian parliament. Refugees, many of whom come from Syria fleeing the war and Islamic State (formerly ISIS/ISIL), have been left stranded in southeastern Europe after Hungarian authorities cracked down on their onward passage to northern and western Europe, closing train and bus stations and stepping up border patrols. The government of Prime Minister Viktor Orban has blamed other European countries for the crisis, in particular Germany, which last month stated it would grant asylum seekers from Syria special status.
