Refugees filled the trains at Budapest’s main train station in an attempt to flee Hungary to get to Germany and other western EU countries on Thursday. For two days, hundreds of migrants have been waiting outside the station, occasionally instigating protests in order to gain access to the trains heading westward. The police cordoned off the premises as the Hungarian authorities delayed all trains to prevent them from leaving for Austria and Germany. Hungary is witnessing a massive influx of migrants and refugees with 140,000 having entered the country so far.
