The unusual couple of Simba the lion and Marusya the liger gave birth to three cubs at the zoo in the Oktyabrsky sanatorium in Sochi, Russia. As their mother refused to feed them, the triplets were given to a Labrador, Grona, who replaced the cubs’ mother. This was the second time when the liger has become a mother, with her first-born litter already working at the circus, where the cubs will be taken when they grow up. Ligers are animals born to a male lion and female tiger, and do not exist in the wild.
