Lithuania and US hold joint drills

The Chief of Staff of the US Army, General Raymond Odierno, met with the Commander of the Lithuanian Land Forces, Major General Almantas Leika, to observe a joint military exercise at Gaiziunu training area on Tuesday. Around 110 soldiers took part in the training, including paratroopers and regular infantry, as well as Humvee fighting vehicles and Apache helicopters. The joint drills are being held as part of Operation Atlantic Resolve and are aimed at demonstrating the United States’ commitment to its NATO allies.
