White House gets rainbow illumination after gay marriage ruling

The White House in Washington DC was lit up in rainbow colors on Friday night after the Supreme Court ruled that the US Constitution guarantees same-sex couples nationwide the right to marry. The rainbow is internationally recognized as a symbol of gay pride and LGBT social movements. Previously, same-sex couples could only marry in the District of Columbia and 36 other states, but now the remaining 14 states will have to revoke their bans.
