Arianespace’s Vega rocket successfully launched the Sentinel-2A satellite from Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou at 01:52 GMT on Tuesday.

The Sentinel-2A is designed to take pictures of the earth’s surface, providing extra data on deforestation, agriculture, other environmental matters and land movements. The main goal is to use the information in harvest predictions, reducing market speculation and stabilizing the world food market.
