Protesters gathered outside the Amygdaleza migrant detention center in Greece's Attica region on Saturday, calling out the Syriza government on their failed pledge to close the site, 100 days after their election. The overcrowded detention center was guarded by riot police as the protesters marched on the building's entrance, carrying a banner calling for the freedom of the canter’s inmates. The event was set on World Refugee Day by the Deport Racism group, who maintain that while the Greek government are slowly releasing detainees, medical supplies and conditions in the center remain poor.
