Indonesian volcano increases activity, more civilians evacuated

The Sinabung volcano situated in North Sumatra, Indonesia, is releasing more and more plumes of smoke, hot ash up to 3,500m and rocks into the air, posing a high threat of possibly erupting. The residents of neighbouring villages had to leave their homes and were evacuate to a temporary shelter. The 2,600-metre high volcano last erupted in 2014, killing at least 17 people.
