Around 500 ‘Stop G7’ activists took a trek along the mountain roads near Schloss Elmau, this year’s G7 venue, while other protesters staged a sit-down in the Bavarian town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Sunday. Police used batons to stop the demonstrators as they reached a 16-kilometer-long security fence around Schloss Elmau. Several arrests were made as thousands of G7 opponents gathered in and around the Bavarian town where the G7 summit is taking place.
