Saudi-led coalition planes continued to bombard Sanaa with airstrikes on Tuesday, just hours before a five-day truce proposed by Saudi Arabia and agreed to by the Houthi forces comes into effect. The ceasefire is set to come into force from 20:00 GMT, Tuesday night. The truce is designed to allow for humanitarian aid to be brought into Yemen. The Saudi-led coalition seeks to restore the government of former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi and has been fighting against the Houthi rebels since March 26.
