Outraged protesters attacked the state congress building in Chilpancingo, Guerrero State, Mexico, on Sunday. The protest marked seven months since the disappearance of 43 students from the College of Ayotzinapa in Iguala. Demonstrators rammed a truck into the entrance of the building, threw missiles at windows, and set fire to a truck in the car park outside.
The students went missing on September 26, 2014, after being detained by police in Iguala, a town in the state of Guerrero. The remains of Alexander Mora, one of the missing, have been identified so far. An independent investigation stated that the Federal Police were involved in the disappearances. The allegations of political and police corruption have led to mass protests throughout the country.
