Supporters of the Russian opposition leader Boris Nemtsov, who was assassinated in February, gathered on the bridge in Moscow city center to honor his memory. Earlier they held a series of one-person pickets around the city center, holding banners with opposition slogans. Four people were briefly detained by police. The opposition initially planned a thousands-strong march in the city center, but abandoned the plan after authorities prohibited it, offering instead to hold it in the northwestern part of the city.
