A giant Venezuelan flag about 1200 meters long and 10 meters wide was unfurled in the center of Caracas on Monday. Made with fabric scraps collected from all states throughout the country, the flag was made as part of a symbolic stance against the United States executive order that deems Venezuela an “unusual and extraordinary threat.” Under the slogan “One flag, one heart,” the unraveling took place on the 13th anniversary of the defeat of a military coup which intended to overthrow late President Hugo Chavez. The flag was made collectively by artists, popular music singers and activists from across all 24 Venezuelan states.
