Hundreds of thousands demand president’s impeachment in Brazil
Thousands of demonstrators dissatisfied with the social and economic policies of the government protested near Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday. Most of the protesters called for President Dilma Rousseff’s impeachment, but there were also various demands, from a military coup to easing gun control laws. Police estimated that 682,000 people marched in 195 Brazilian cities on the same day, AFP reported. The largest gathering – of 275,000 people – took place in the business center of Sao Paulo.
