An Australian zoo says it hosts the world’s biggest and oldest wombat. Named Patrick, he was hand-raised in the Ballarat Wildlife Park in Victoria after being orphaned as a baby and spent almost his entire life in captivity as he couldn’t defend himself against other wombats in the wild. At 36 kilograms and 30 years of age, Patrick is famous in the park for greeting visitors in the guise of ‘zookeeper’. The cuddly animal has his own Facebook page with hundreds of thousands of fans following his daily activities.
