Caminito del Rey (King's Pathway), notoriously known as the world's most dangerous footpath, was officially opened to the public in El Chorro, Malaga province, on Sunday. Caminito del Rey was originally shut down by authorities for security reasons after five hikers died crossing the path between 1999 and 2000. The path, which is 4.2 kilometers long and a meter wide, has been reinforced with an extra security fence. The trail was built between 1901 and 1905 to provide access to workers for the construction of a hydroelectric plant.
