Russia showed off its innovations in the military sector including the new infantry combat system 'Ratnik' (English: 'Warrior'), the ADS amphibious rifle, AK-101, AK-12 assault rifles and the Khrizantema-S anti-tank missile system at the International Defence Exhibition & Conference (IDEX) 2015 in Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

The full Ratnik weighs about 20kg (45 lbs), the basic variant without shoulder guards is available at 15kg (34 lbs). Designed for the global export market, the compact AK-101 seeks to combine the reliability of the Kalashnikov assault rifles with the compatibility of the 5.56×45mm NATO cartridges, which is the standard of NATO armies.
