A football fixture turned violent before kick-off as fans of Dutch football team Feyenoord clashed with police in Rome, where the Europa League match between AS Roma and Feyenoord took place on Thursday. Hooligans threw metal fences and bottles at riot police who fired tear gas into the crowd. Up to 23 fans were arrested and 19 have already been charged, with eight fans facing up to six months in jail. After the clash, the square was left littered with rubbish, broken bottles and cans.
