Hundreds of protesters vented their anger outside the European Union headquarters in Rome on Saturday during an anti-austerity march in support of Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras' Syriza party. The demonstrators threw tomatoes, eggs and smoke flares at the EU building, which was heavily protected by riot police. Protesters waved flags and banners supporting Tsipras and chanted slogans calling for southern European countries to show solidarity against the Troika. The protest in Rome comes days before EU finance ministers are set to gather in Brussels to discuss the possible restructuring of Greece's debt.
