Protesters gathered in central London on Thursday to decry the lack of media coverage over the murder of three Muslim students in North Carolina. The demonstrators accused BBC and Sky News of what they consider to be the demonization of Islam and the downplaying of hate crimes against Muslims.
The 23-year-old Deah Shaddy Barakat, his wife, Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, 21, and her sister, Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19, were all allegedly killed by atheist Craig Hicks, who is now the suspect in the murder. The relatives of the victims say the killings are a hate crime, while police believe it was a result of a "parking dispute."
