Protesters arrested at demo over church attacks in India

Hundreds of protesters gathered outside New Delhi’s main Catholic cathedral to protest against attacks on churches on Thursday. Demonstrators called for protection of Christian places of worship from being vandalized, destroyed and burnt and accused the government of failing to investigate a recent wave of attacks and vandalism. Police detained hundreds of protesters, with some priests and nuns among them. The demonstration took place after a mysterious fire destroyed a church in New Delhi and several other incidents of vandalism were reported at churches across the city.
